Build · Scheduling & Campaigns
Give any page, section or menu link a start and an end date, in your own timezone. Group several of them into one campaign so they all change together, and everything goes back to normal on its own afterwards.
Seasonal changes happen at the worst possible time — the Christmas menu goes up late because somebody had to be at a laptop at nine in the morning on the first.
Pages, sections and menu links each get a start date, an end date, or both — set in your own timezone, so the times you type are the times you mean, including when the clocks change.
Put several scheduled things into one campaign and they start and stop as one, so a seasonal change never goes half live.
Every item says what it is doing — Live now, Scheduled, Ends in 3 days, Not showing — with a sentence explaining it. Nothing you read mentions our machinery.
If two things are set to show in the same place at the same time, you are told before you approve it, in terms of what to change.
When a campaign finishes, each address goes back to whatever it normally shows. Running a promotion never quietly changes what normal is.
Send a link that shows your website as it will look on the day — with an expiry date and an optional password — without putting anything live. Stop the link at any time and it stops working immediately.
A restaurant with a Christmas menu
Set the festive menu, banner and homepage notice to appear on 1 December and finish on 2 January. Everything returns to the normal menu on its own — and the normal menu was never changed.
A shop running a sale
Schedule the sale page, the navigation link and the banner as one campaign, then send the owner a preview link so they can approve exactly what customers will see.
A business closing for a holiday
Put a notice up for the dates you are closed and let it take itself down, rather than remembering to delete it when you get back.
What your website shows is worked out when a visitor asks for the page — not by a background job that has to run on time. If our scheduler were delayed, your content would still appear at the minute you chose, and expired content would still be gone. Preview links expire, can be stopped instantly, and are never stored in a form anybody at LimeOrigin could read back.
Nothing that a visitor can see. Your website decides what to show from the dates you set, at the moment somebody asks for the page. Background tidying-up can be late without your content being late.
