Build and edit your first website
Your website is often the first impression a customer gets. LimeOrigin gives you a structured starting point, but the words and images should sound like you — and that's quick to do once you know how the editor works.
Step by step
- 1
Understand sections
Each page is built from sections — a hero, a list of services, testimonials, an FAQ, a call to action, and so on. You add, remove and reorder sections instead of dragging boxes around a blank canvas, so pages always stay tidy.
- 2
Edit your words
Click into any section and rewrite the text. If you're stuck, Origin Assist can rewrite a passage or suggest FAQs, grounded in your Blueprint — you approve every change.
- 3
Add your images
Upload images to your media library. LimeOrigin writes alt text for accessibility automatically, which you can edit.
- 4
Preview, then publish
Use the live preview to see exactly how your page will look on desktop and mobile, then publish. Your changes stay private until you do.
Your checklist
0/5 doneBest practices
- ✓ Lead each page with the outcome for the customer, not a description of your company.
- ✓ Keep paragraphs short and specific — visitors scan before they read.
- ✓ Use real photos where you can; they build more trust than stock images.
Common mistakes
- ✕ Leaving the generated placeholder wording unchanged on key pages.
- ✕ Forgetting to check the mobile preview — most visitors are on a phone.
