LimeOrigin for events

Put the night up, take the registrations, and know who is at the door

A page for the event, a real number of places, a code for everybody who registers, and a door screen that tells a volunteer what each code actually means. Plus a site that dresses itself for the season the festival runs in.

How it actually goes

6 things you will not have to think about.

One account, one bill, and the same website all year. Every link below goes to the part of the platform that does it.

  1. Before you announce

A site built from what you actually run

Describe the events you put on once and get a structured site — pages, listings and navigation — rather than a template you fight into shape. Edit it in plain sections, and publish when you are ready.

  2. The moment it goes on sale

A real number of places, counted honestly

Set the capacity and the page shows what is genuinely left. When it fills it says sold out rather than quietly taking one more — and two people registering at the same instant cannot both take the last place.

  3. On the night

The person on the door is told what to do

Every refusal is a different sentence, because each needs a different response: an unknown code is a typo or the wrong event, an already-used one is a duplicate scan or two people sharing a screenshot, and a cancelled one is a cancellation. Nobody is left holding a phone that just says no.

  4. For the run of the festival

The site wears the season and takes it off

Give the summer months or the festival fortnight its own look and window. It arrives on the first morning, settles the animation rather than turning any on, and stands itself down when the run ends.

  5. Announcing it

Written in advance, published on the hour

Group the announcement, the new photographs and the changed listings, give the group a date and a time, and see the site exactly as it will look before any of it is public — including sending that view to somebody for a yes.

  6. Afterwards

The people who came are people you know

Enquiries and registrations become tracked contacts with their history, so the next announcement goes to an audience rather than a spreadsheet somebody keeps privately.

Before you decide

What LimeOrigin does not do here.

These are the limits worth knowing before you start rather than in your second month. None of them is a plan you can upgrade to — they are simply not built.

  • Registration is free. There is no paid ticketing, no seat map and no allocated seating — money for a ticket is not taken here.
  • Tickets are not emailed. The code appears the moment somebody registers and they keep it; there is no send-it-again.
  • There is no box-office reporting, no reserved seating chart and no partner or reseller allocation.

Start with the half hour, not the blank page.
